Calderón's Plan for Mexico and the Evolution of Mexican Organized Crime
This report presents an overview of Mexican President Calderón's push to fight organized crime. The authors touch on a range of issues, including the US' position and Mexican connections with Colombia. They also place consideration on Calderón's use of extradition and how deconstructing one drug trafficking organization may create a vacuum for another to fill. The authors predict that violence in Mexico will become worse before security improves.
