Extended Deterrence in Northeast Asia: Keep a Cool Head and Maintain a High Profile
This commentary discusses the effectiveness of the US nuclear deterrence in North-East Asia. As a result of the growing North Korean nuclear threat, the public opinions of South Korea and Japan are increasingly requiring the development of national nuclear weapons capabilities. This might weaken the American leadership in the region.
