Drivers of Strategic Contestation in South America
When it comes to responding to Brazil's rise as a regional power, secondary ones such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Venezuela oscillate between outright competition and genuine cooperation. This paper describes why these other countries modulate their responses as they do, why they vary amongst each other, and what the responses actually look like, both domestically and internationally.
