Fighting Climate Change
A Structural Shift Towards Renewable Energies Requires Concerted Policy Action
This paper argues that we are now at the dawn of a structural shift in the energy system and its infrastructures. As renewable sources may account for almost 80% of the world's energy supply by 2050, the paper concludes by further arguing that renewable energy sources will gain even higher market shares in the future. Indeed, this will occur even in the absence of climate change policies.
