Latin America: Terrorism Issues
In the aftermath of 9/11 US attention to terrorism in Latin America intensified, with an increase in bilateral and regional cooperation. Latin American nations strongly condemned the attacks, and took action through the Organization of American States (OAS) to strengthen hemispheric cooperation. This paper deals with the US concerns regarding terrorism in Latin America as well as its connections with Iran and Hezbollah. It further presents the US policies and initiatives to address these issues.
