Future of US Power: Is China Going to Eclipse the United States?
Two Possible Scenarios to 2040
This paper discusses a few possible ways of how US power may evolve from 2010 to 2040. The author summarizes the epochs of US power, before drawing analogies from the knowledge of evolution of historical empires to the contemporary world's political economy. He then examines China's long-term abilities to challenge the US and achieve world hegemony before providing two mixed-method scenarios.
