Border Security in Central Asia
Before and After September 11
This chapter discusses the changed agenda of regional transboundary security in Central Asia after 11 September 2009. The author argues that the problem of militant extremists' transborder activity has become one of the most actual ones in the region. He states that through significant help for the strengthening of their border security forces the Central Asian countries have resolved some of the most pressing issues. He, however, outlines several unresolved questions.
