Black Widows: The Chechen Female Suicide Terrorists
This chapter addresses the Chechen women suicide bombers, the so-called Black Widows. The study identifies motivational sets, and it discusses the role of Chechen terror organizations, religious ideology, and the support from the Chechen community for female suicide terrorism. The authors conclude that the majority of Chechen women and the society as a whole do not support suicide terrorism.
