Political Culture & its Impact on Politics: The Case of Iran
This chapter addresses central features of Iran's political culture, focusing on monarchy and Shia Islam as practiced in Iran. The paper looks at the constitutional revolution of 1905-1909, the oil nationalization of 1953 and the Iranian Revolution of 1979 and assesses the impact and effect of the country's political culture upon them. Furthermore, the paper outlines central features of both monarchy and Shia Islam with respect to government and authority.
