Social Media: Sri Lanka's New War Zone
This brief examines the role of social media in the shaping of post-war political developments in Sri Lanka and ethnic issues related to the Tamils. The author explores how social media has transformed ethnic conflict in the country as well as the impact cyberspace has had on Sri-Lanka's post-war ethnic question. He suggests that although social media has not changed the situation on the ground, it has shaped the nature of non-violent protests.
