The Chilean Case
This chapter assesses China's impact on Chilean industry, noting that China's demand for copper exports has led to increased economic dependence on this resource. The author examines the surge of Chinese imports, and highlights that because the Chilean economy is so open, Chinese goods have displaced imports from other Latin American countries rather than domestic production.
