What after Cotonou?
The Future Cooperation between the EU and the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) States
This paper discusses the possible scenarios after the 2020 expiration of the Cotonou Agreement which regulates the relations of the EU with the African, Caribbean, and Pacific States (ACP States). The author argues that there are more and more signs that there may be no common agreement at all between the ACP States as a whole and the EU after 2020. However, the Cotonou Agreement could simply be put to rest after its expiration, if a structure of equivalent quality is set up in its place by then.
