Iran: US Concerns and Policy Responses
This paper examines US pressure and sanctions on Iran in response to the perceived threat the country poses through its nuclear program. The author argues that multilateral talks have not been successful confirming opinions that international sanctions have not pressured the regime enough to compromise. He also believes that, although the option of military action by Israel and the US remains open, the election of the relatively moderate Rouhani is likely to forestall further discussion of military options in the short term.
