Armed Conflict in Syria: US and International Response
This paper discusses the situation of unrest, violence and humanitarian emergency after the rebellion in Syria in 2010. It looks at the problems resulting from the fighting including damage to urban areas, resulting refugees and migration as well as the control of Syrian weapon stockpiles and examines the US humanitarian and political assisitance in the aftermath of the crisis. The central question for policy makers remains how best to bring the conflict in Syria to a close as political, humanitarian, and economic challenges continue to increase.
