Russia's Rotten Core: Money, Politics and the Rule of Law

This is a transcript of a discussion which investigates corruption as one of the major problems in the global economy, as well as anti-corruption mechanisms and tools, particularly focusing on the Russia context. The speakers highlight that Russia is 143rd in Transparency International's 'Perceptions of Corruption [Index]', analyzing the different initiatives to create a commission to eradicate corruption, at the European level, at the G20 summit and according to the OECD anti-corruption convention. They suggest some strategies to overcome the problem: from the mass protests and making public the specific cases of corruption of the government to the "re-legitimation, co-optation and coercion strategy".
