China's Significance in International Politics

Domestic and External Development and Action Potentials

This paper discusses the importance of China in the world and in the region of southeast Asia. Besides analyzing economic, ecological and political trends the paper also discusses problems such as unemployment and social insecurity in China. In the second chapter the authors concentrate on the role of China in international politics and discuss, among other issues, trends in China's foreign policy and its attitude toward the UN. The third part of the paper deals with the question of Taiwan and the relationship to North Korea. In the last part of this publication, the authors mention what they think the common interests of Europe, Germany and China are.
