This issue of the Russian Analytical Digest examines the energy dimension of Russia’s foreign policy. Specifically, it considers Russia’s energy relations with Azerbaijan, its role in the Karabakh conflict and relations with Kazakhstan in the context of energy transportation and military cooperation with NATO. Further, it considers the international context of energy relations between Russia and Turkmenistan. Additionally, this issue presents maps on major oil and natural gas pipelines in Central Asia and around the Caspian Sea as well as statistics on Russian oil and gas reserves, production and consumption in international comparison.
