Terms of Engagement: Australia's Regional Defence Diplomacy
This paper looks at Australian defense diplomacy and policy in the Asia Pacific region. It examines Australia's strategic interests and engagement in Southeast Asia and Timor‑Leste, the Pacific islands, Papua New Guinea and the Indian Ocean region. It also identifies the specific conditions and possibilities for defense cooperation in these areas and concludes with recommendations for Australian defense policy.
