Australia and Air-Sea Battle
This commentary examines the US's Air-Sea Battle (ASB) concept in Asia as a counter to the military challenge of China, and Australia's expected response and contribution. The author discusses several concerns regarding the efficacy of possible contributions, as well as implications for Australia's relationship with China that will determine whether, and to what extent, Australia will participate. He argues that Washington needs a much stronger rationale for ASB before Australia can justifiably commit.
