Governance, Oversight and Management of the Nuclear Security Enterprise to Ensure High Quality Science, Engineering and Mission Effectiveness in an Age of Austerity

This statement makes suggestions to address how the governance, oversight and management of the nuclear security enterprise can be improved to enable the National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) laboratories and plants to be more effective and efficient. According to the author, a resigned system of governance is needed to ensure the scientific productivity of the laboratories and the successful execution of the nation’s stockpile stewardship mission.
