In this issue the authors discuss the 2004 polls in Ghana and the subsequent emergence of satirical posters. Further topics include the monitoring of election and incumbency abuse, the party manifestos, the running mates of the two biggest parties and the danger that stems from the selection of candidates on a presidential ticket from the same ethnic group, party defection for pecuniary reasons, Rawlings' claim that various developments in Ghana threatened to derail the political process, the absence of media responsibility and the reconciliation process.
