Earthquake Research Institute (ERI)
The Earthquake Research Institute (ERI) at the University of Tokyo promotes advanced research on solid earth for better understanding of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions to mitigate the relevant disasters. It is composed of four divisions, five centers, and other supporting offices and sections, conducting research on unraveling the various phenomena within the earth and seismic/volcanic activities as well as the mitigation of disasters from such phenomena.
