Leaving Afghanistan: A Political and Security Vacuum in the Making?
In this audio presentation from the 2013 International Security Forum, three experts focus on the direction Afghanistan and its neighbors might take after the departure of ISAF and US forces in 2014. As part of their analysis, they also discuss what policy options various actors could take in order to cope effectively with the upcoming transition. (Note: The speakers include Gulmira Borubaeva from the State Committee for national Security in Kyrgyzstan; Farkhod Tolipov, who is a Research Fellow at the NATO Defense College, and Ambassador Mahmoud Saikal, who previously served as Afghanistan's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.)
