Western Security: Lessons, Dynamics and Prospects
In this audio presentation, three experts discuss the state and future of Western security cooperation, particularly in the case of the Transatlantic Alliance. In their view, the inconclusive wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, NATO’s difficulties in Libya, and the growing pressure on national defense budgets all justify speculating about the future trajectory of Western security. (Note: The speakers in the presentation include Volker Perthes, who is the Director of the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP); François Heisbourg, who is Chairman of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy's Foundation Council; and Steven Clemons from the New America Foundation.)
