Building an International Code of Conduct for Private Security Providers
In this audio presentation, three experts analyze the International Code of Conduct for Private Security Service Providers (ICoC) and the oversight institution associated with it. By way of clarification, the ICoC is a multi-stakeholder effort that aims to address some of the gaps in effectively overseeing and regulating the private security sector. After a successful launch of the ICoC on 9 November 2010 (58 companies signed the document), a multi-stakeholder Steering Committee began work on building an effective oversight and accountability institution for the ICoC. (Note: The speakers in this presentation include Michael Clarke from G4S; Devon Chaffee from Human Rights First; and Nils Rosemann from the Political Affairs Division IV, Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.)
