The Challenges of Impact Evaluations in Security-Related Interventions
In this audio presentation, four experts debate the methodological challenges and tradeoffs involved in trying to monitor and evaluate assorted programming efforts. More specifically, they discuss a variety of quantitative and qualitative approaches, as applied to peacebuilding and security activities; they discuss the types of monitoring and evaluation activities that are necessary to improve organizational performance; and they mull over which ‘mixed method’ designs further the utility of peacebuilding-security activities on both the country and program levels. (Note: The speakers -- Jean-Louis Arcand, Susanna Campbell, Moncef Kartas and Thania Paffenholz -- all hail from The Graduate Institute, Geneva.)
