Nuclear Weapons and the Middle East
In this audio presentation, three experts discuss the status of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in the Middle East and look at the prospects for a WMD-free zone in the region, as outlined at the 2010 Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons Review Conference. In relation to this overall theme, the experts also look at the Iranian nuclear program, Israel’s nuclear status, and Syria's, Egypt's and Israel’s non-accession to the Chemical Weapons Convention. (Note: The speakers include Ariel Levite from the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace; Nabil Fahmy from The American University in Cairo; and Michael Eisenstadt from The Washington Institute for Near East Policy.)
