Rescuing Responsibility from the Retributivists - Neuroscience, Free Will and Criminal Punishment
In this audio presentation, Frej Klem Thomsen, who is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Culture and Identity, Roskilde University, talks about retributivist justifications for punishment and the basic neuroscientific argument against them. (Note: He considers other challenges to the retributivist account of responsibility and desert, but he doesn't consider any of them to be plausible.)
