Pacific Forum's Brad Glosserman Discusses Economic Shifts in Japan and China
In this audio presentation, Brad Glosserman, who is the Executive Director of the Pacific Forum CSIS, examines the economic shifts occurring in both Japan and China and their possible implications for the global economy. In the case of Japan, Glosserman discusses the sovereign debt and demographic problems it now faces and how Tokyo hopes to address them by integrating its economy more closely with the Asia-Pacific region. The Chinese economy, on the other hand, needs to shift from an export-led economy to a consumption-oriented one if it hopes to preserve its long-term economic health.
