Security and Development Approaches to Central Asia
The EU Compared to China and Russia
This paper looks at how the EU's approach to promoting security and development in Central Asia compares with those of China and Russia. It concludes that the three approaches are sometimes at odds with each other but are not mutually hostile. In other words, they are not mired, nor do they have to be, in a zero-sum Great Game with each other.
