In this brief, Dr Shahid Ahmad, who is the chief scientist at the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council, provides an overview of water security issues in Pakistan; recommends ways Islamabad can manage domestic water supplies more effectively; and discusses the impact of the Indus Water Treaty on India-Pakistan relations. In the last case, Dr Ahmad also highlights how Pakistan and India can work together to address water-related problems in each country.
