Implementing the National Security Space Strategy
How the United States implements its national space policy will obviously determine its future course in space. This truism, as obvious as it may seem, does lead to important questions. Will the US act as a collaborative partner in space that leads by example, or will it try to move forward unilaterally? What steps should the US take today in order to ensure its security in space tomorrow? This article provides definite answers – the US should use its National Security Space Strategy to promote international cooperation, establish space-specific norms, and provide the ‘mission assurance’ needed to place space-delivered assets that are vital to the US’s continued leadership in the world.
