Who we are
The International Relations and Security Network (ISN) is one of the world’s leading open access information services for both professionals and students who focus on international relations (IR) and security studies.
Established in 1994, our mission is to facilitate security-related dialogue and cooperation within a trusted network of international relations organizations, professionals and experts, and to provide open-source international relations and security-related tools and materials in accessible ways.
We accomplish the above mission by:
- Being a driving IR and security-centered force in web-based content/data distribution and management;
- Facilitating policy debates and security-related dialogue;
- Raising the expertise of those institutions and individuals who benefit from the above efforts through active knowledge sharing and collaboration.
We strive, in short, to meet the rapidly evolving information and educational needs of our users by working with the world’s leading think tanks, universities, research institutes, NGOs and international organizations. The sheer scope of our partners then allows us to offer our users a truly global selection of views and opinions on the major issues of our day.
